Before working with students, a lot of planning must take place. Think about your procedures for how you will have students line up, how you get their attention, and how you would like them to clean up. Even the way materials are organized and distributed for students will impact how smooth your time together will be. To start with, a simple search on the internet, a conversation with fellow teammates, or other educators on site can wield a variety of ideas that you can choose from. Because you are most likely sharing space, you will need to have a system that's flexible. Eventually, you’ll want to incorporate your students' ideas and experience into building routines that work better for your group and help them take ownership of managing the learning environment together. You will most likely be guests in someone else’s space so careful planning on how to respect their space and property is very important. Training your group of students to do the same is also crucial.
