Moreno Valley Unified is Hosting their First Ever Reading Challenge for 2023

Have you heard the good news, Moreno Valley parents? The renowned Moreno Valley Unified School District is holding its first-ever Reading Challenge for 2023! This initiative encourages elementary school students to challenge themselves by reading a set number of books and engaging in related activities.

Students may use Footsteps2Brilliance or "Student Reading Log" to keep track of their progress. Students who complete this challenge will be rewarded with Platinum, Gold, or Silver, depending on the number of pages read. In addition, the Moreno Valley Unified School District's annual reading festival will occur at the Moreno Valley Mall on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
They also encourage parents to get involved by reading with their children for at least 15 minutes a day, five days per week. With their "Parent Commitment and Log Form," parents can certify that they have committed to this goal and track progress. At the Moreno Valley Unified Reading Festival, parental accolades will be distributed.
What is Footsteps2Brillance?
Districts similar to Moreno Valley Unified School District use their technology to keep records of their student's reading progress online and on the go through their Android and IOS applications.
Footsteps2Brilliance is an award-winning bilingual early literacy platform that accelerates student achievement through mobile game technology and cognitive research. It provides a library of beautifully written and illustrated eBooks and over 230 educational games for reading and playing together.
There is also a YouTube channel with videos about the platform. Families can access Footsteps2Brilliance for free when their school district or organization partners with them. In addition, districts like Okeechobee County School District and Hawthorne School District have implemented Footsteps2Brilliance in their schools to help students reach their full potential.
