Exciting news for the Lemon Grove School District! The district has been awarded a $2.7 million grant from the Federal Department of Education to be distributed over five years for student mental health. This grant will enhance and improve the education experience for the approximately 3400 students in the district.

The Lemon Grove School District is located in beautiful Lemon Grove, CA, and is an elementary school district serving students from Preschool through 8th grade. With this new grant, the district can provide even more resources and opportunities for its students.

Some possible uses for this grant include:

  • Hiring additional teachers or support staff
  • Investing in new technology or educational resources
  • Expanding extracurricular programs or after-school activities support

The Lemon Grove School District has a strong reputation for academic excellence, with several top-rated public schools within its boundaries. In addition, the district is committed to providing a high-quality education to all its students, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Lemon Grove is one of two California districts to receive this federal grant, which will assist it in fulfilling its strategic plan objective of enhancing students’ well-being and learning through universal and tiered mental health services.

Lemon Grove School District plans to use most of the money on hiring more licensed social work professionals to help decrease staff-to-student ratios and increase direct mental health service availability for kids.

In addition, the district will use the funds to develop its tiered programs for mental health beyond restorative practices (i.e., positive behavior intervention support), including a robust Universal Tier One program that provides all pupils with healthy techniques, social and emotional learning, as well as positive reinforcement.

We aim to provide all our students with places to go anytime for their mental health.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Lemon Grove School District has received a much-needed boost in funding with the $2.7 million grant from the Federal Department of Education. With this additional funding, Lemon Grove School District can continue to provide quality education and support for its students, ensuring their overall well-being and success.
