Riverside Unified School District is committed to providing all students with access to nutritious meals during the summer break. This year, they are excited to offer the SummerFeeds Program, which will provide free lunch to all students 18 years and younger. The program runs through July 29th, and we hope everyone takes advantage of it! In addition to getting fed, students will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities and learn about healthy eating habits. We hope that you take advantage of this great program!

What is the Riverside Unified SummerFeeds Program?

The Riverside Unified SummerFeeds Program is part of an ongoing effort by schools across California to offer more safe spaces for children through the summer. Students will be able to enjoy delicious foods such as hot dogs, corn, hamburgers, fries, apple slices, carrots, ice cream, cake, and more. There will also be fun events where students can participate in tug-of-war challenges and kickball tournaments. Benefits of Summer Programs

Many students take advantage of summer programs to advance their studies or explore a new subject. For example, summer programs can offer many benefits, including smaller class sizes, more personal attention from instructors, and the opportunity to take courses not offered during the regular school year. For example, in 2020, more than 3.4 million students were in summer school or a summer program. In addition, more schools are offering online options so students can attend from anywhere.

In addition, summer programs can provide an opportunity for students to live in a new environment and meet new people. For students considering college, summer programs can also give them a taste of college life and help them decide if it is the right fit for them. With so many benefits, it’s no wonder that summer programs are becoming increasingly popular.

Student Hires Programs

Student Hires works with local schools to create after school and expanded learning programs and help increase the career readiness of disadvantaged youth in local communities. In addition, our programs provide hands-on experiential learning opportunities for youth in our communities, led by college students, so younger students can build a connection and relate to them.

We work with schools to help students find safe places to stay while their parents our out but also receive exercise and keep learning throughout the summer months. Want to learn more about the programs we offer? Check out our partner page to learn more.
