San Bernardino City Unified School District is holding its Virtual Academy for the 2023-2024 school year, where students who want a quality education but can’t or either don’t like to attend in-person classes still have time to sign up!

The San Bernardino City Unified School District Virtual Academy (SBCUSD VA) is a unique learning environment that allows students to learn online. The Virtual Academy focuses on supporting students of all grades who choose to learn in this environment rather than in traditional classrooms. With its dedicated team of teachers, counselors, and administrators, SBCUSD VA provides a comprehensive educational experience for its students.

Unlike Distance Learning, enrollment in the Virtual Academy is subject to Independent Study regulations. For registration, students and guardians must sign a master agreement. In addition, students must maintain good grades in each course to remain enrolled at the Virtual Academy.

Students who do not achieve acceptable progress will be referred for Tiered Reengagement Consideration to determine if staying would serve their academic interests better than leaving the program.

Students can take in-person classes depending on the format for the year they apply for the program. Students also have the opportunity to participate in various events, such as YouTube and Tik Tok showcases of School musicals and dances. In addition, students can engage in fun activities even while not being on-site.

Students also will be able to participate in exciting discussions on their Virtual Academy Innovators podcast. Parents interested can go to the Virtual Academy support page for more information.
